Creative Holistic Counseling for Children

Beginning with your first phone call, we’ll start the process of discovery as we get to know each other and I learn about the needs your child and family.

From a child-centered and strengths-based perspective, we will develop our working goals, highlighting strengths and interests, and creating a toolbox of your child’s personal and unique gifts.

Tapping these resources, we will explore areas of desired change, helping your family work toward solutions that will produce enjoyable experiences and a greater sense of understanding and connection.

My involvement with your child will be playful, creative, and flexible, so that it moves and keeps pace with a natural process. It has been said that play is the language of children, and the toys are like a child’s words.

Play Therapy is different from regular play in that it helps children build on their natural way of learning, and helps them resolve their own problems. Through play therapy, children learn to communicate with others, express feelings, modify behavior, develop problem-solving skills, and learn a variety of ways of relating to others. Play provides a safe psychological distance from their problems and allows expression of thoughts and feelings appropriate to their development.

  • Goal Setting and Attainment
