I am currently a preferred provider on many insurance panels, including BCBS, Regence, Premera, Cigna, First Choice, Humana, Magellan, Medicare, MHN, Optum, and others. At your request, I am happy to submit claims to your insurance company for reimbursement. I also accept cash fee for service clients, for those who do not wish to use their insurance.
Not involving your insurance company allows you to receive several important advantages:
By not involving your insurance company, your private personal information stays in my office. I’m the only person who has access to it except under specific circumstances, which are outlined in my Office Policies and discussed in our first session.
Insurance companies will often authorize only a certain limited number of sessions and can arbitrarily stop paying for sessions for a variety of reasons. Insurance companies make money by getting you out of therapy as soon as possible. I want us to make that decision, not a corporation.
Your Child’s Future
An insurance provider will require you to receive a psychiatric diagnosis in order to receive treatment (e.g. major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, bi-polar disorder). Your personal health information record stays with you forever, and the information is open to review. As an adult, your child may be challenged in their pursuit of career goals, and may be required to produce evidence demonstrating their capacity if they have ever received a psychiatric diagnosis. Paying privately avoids this risk.
Fees vary, depending on services. During the initial phone consultation, we will discuss your needs, my approach, and determine if we are a good fit for each other. A discussion about the fees and services will also take place.
Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted. Payment is due in full at the time of service.
Reduced Fee/Sliding Scale
We offer reduced fee and sliding scale services for children on a limited basis. Please contact me for details.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled therapy appointment, please provide 24 hour notice to avoid being charged for the appointment.
